Today, 10 October, was born five years ago my little Mario, and I find it incredible that so much time has already passed… But there is, tall and beautiful, so restless and mischievous as ever, good, sweet, generous, affectionate.. always with his big smile and and his unquenchable thirst for partying and pranks…so “Mario” as always, lol.

Last Saturday we held a birthday party with his classmates. It was a joint party with his friend and colleague Miguel, where we had a great time and got to taste, Aside from the delicious cookie cake Hope, Mike's mom, Traigo that this hoy. And from here again, thank you very much to all for coming and making children enjoy both.

To make it a holiday to complete Mario, morning we took him to the cinema to see a film that was long waiting and, for when he, the cake was ready. Although clear, I did not know how he would react when he saw, Mario is yours… fortunately, Loved!, The sorprendió, I was thrilled, … and I, at last, after seeing that face excited, rested satisfied, lol.

On the ingredients of the cake I want to comment that, first, I used cream of tartar, which is nothing else than one of the components of the yeast commonly used powder (Royal), and serves to stabilize and increase the volume of the clear. Certain American pastry that is essential in, in this I bring you today is not, so if you find not, concern them in.

And we already have the recipe!

  1. We started making biscuits, if possible the night before. Prepare the molds round 18 cm. Based greased and lined with baking paper.
  2. Sift flour, the recipe, yeast and salt.
  3. We separate the whites from the yolks. Beat the egg whites until they begin to foam. Then add the cream of tartar and continue beating until soft peaks form, when you add, little by little, 4 cdas. sugar, while whisk constantly until, finally, reach peaks.
  4. Beat butter, at room temperature, with the remainder of sugar for approximately 3-4 minutes, until the mixture is white and fluffy.
  5. Add the yolks to the mixture, slightly beaten and gradually, and whisking constantly.
  6. Add flour mixture and milk to the previous preparation, slowly and alternating, one part flour, some milk, and so on until we let all, and while beating a moment. Whisk well so that all ingredients are perfectly integrated.
  7. Add the egg whites to the mixture, mixing slowly and gently so as not to drop.
  8. Split the mass into the two molds and baked one to one, in preheated oven at 175 º C, for about 30 minutes or until the stick comes out clean punch.
  9. Once out of the oven, and after a few minutes of rest, desmoldamos the cupcakes to cool completely on a rack.
  10. Prepare the syrup, and water to boil it with sugar, lemon peel and cinnamon, on medium, for about 15 minutes, stirring frequently. Leave to cool.
  11. Prepare the filling for which assemble the cream (that is very cool) with icing sugar and reserve in the fridge.
  12. Coverage prepare two types of melting chocolate in a double boiler. Once off the heat add the cream and stir. Let stand a few minutes (not because it hardens too fast).
  13. We assemble the cake. Bathe first cake with the syrup and cover it with a generous layer of whipped cream. We place the second cake on top, I showered again with syrup and cover the cake with chocolate. Without waiting for the latter to dry apply the kit-kat around, in blocks of two and, if we wish, all with a closed loop, tape,… and let cool in the fridge. Before serving, toss the Smarties and M&M's on top and decorate with gum balls or whatever we want. Enjoy it !!

I hope you liked the recipe and I to decide to make it short, especially if you have kids,.. You'll see his reaction when seeing! There is nothing better.

See you soon !!
